Appreciating Life’s Everyday Miracles!

Life is full of little miracles.

Today on the very first day of spring, an absolutely gorgeous flower bloomed in our garden. The very first of the season. I have been watching the ready to bloom buds the last few days. Today as a couple of them miraculously turned into flowers I was in awe and full of joy.

I grabbed my I-phone and took a photo on the portrait mode. As I stared at the flower and its photo on my phone, I was reminded of one of my favourite quotes by Albert Einstein.

“There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle”, says Einstein.

So pretty much the renowned physicist is telling us that life is what we perceive it to be. Simple, right? Yet how confused we get between the two basic choices!

How to live miraculously?

In this modern world when we mention the word “miracle” we expect something out of the ordinary. Something so very exceptional. Caught up in the everyday man made life of constantly trying to achieve something, we fail to recognize and appreciate the abundance of miracles happening all around us. In fact we take every single miracle for granted. Anything taken for granted looses its novelty and charm leaving behind nothing but emptiness.

Maybe it’s time to follow Einstein’s advice and simply change our perception. How you say? Life is difficult. It’s full of stress, pain and hardships. That is life friends. We are meant to live and grow though this human experience. As long as we are alive life has its ups and downs just like the ECG of our heart. It’s the sign of being alive and well. It’s only when the human body is no more that the line goes flat.

So through every stress, through every pain let us promise to breath and walk through, always keeping our focus on the miraculous; promising to find the wonder in everything and taking nothing for granted.

What is your miracle? What is your miracle that you are taking for granted?

  • The job you love?
  • Your relationship?
  • The child that came into the world through you?
  • Your healthy body?
  • The smile of a stranger?
  • The helping hand you provided to someone?
  • Your sound mind?
  • The blooming flowers?
  • The delightful birds?
  • The beauty of a friendship?
  • The healthy food you’re able to enjoy?
  • The pain that made you stronger?
  • The glorious sunshine?
  • The beautiful stars?
  • The butterflies in your garden?
  • Social media that connects the world?
  • The failure that left you wiser?
  • The hug you gave a loved one?
  • The aero-plane that flies you to your dream destinations?
  • The emotions that make you alive?
  • The heart that beats ever so beautifully?
  • Life itself ?

I could keep going but I rest my case. Next time you catch yourself taking anything for granted think of Albert Einstein and the two options.

Let your being feel that miracle. Breath it, live it, enjoy it. Let it make you come alive!

Here is to appreciating all the little miracles. May you look for them, may you find them.

Hello Davinder, I completely agree, life is how we perceive it! We can find miracles in everything around us. The biggest miracle for me is our planet earth. I can’t wrap my head around the gifts of Mother Nature. I had passion fruit 🍎 this morning and as I was eating it, i was admiring the wonders that this earth brings to us. Your dedication to writing a blog every week is greatly appreciated! Lots of love and hugs!
