The Ordinary Extraordinary

Own Your Story, Your Truth

Own your truth, your story

Own your truth. Own your story.

All of it, every part of it!
You are unique, you are beautiful and you are you! There is no one else like you in this whole wide world. That uniqueness is your superpower.

I was a little girl born in a small village in India.  It was the most carefree, loving, and ideal childhood for a little girl. At the age of 10 I got on a plane with my family and we landed in this beautiful land called Canada.

It is my parents’ farsightedness and courage (to move to a new country in their 40s) that I am forever grateful for.

The land that shaped my childhood and its core values and the land that gave me immense opportunity and freedom, I will always hold both dear.

For all of God’s blessings I am thankful and by all the lessons I am humbled. I accept and own every part of my story.

I may not have control over what happens to me but I do have control over how I respond to what happens to me. I pledge to respond by honouring myself and my truth. That is how I shape my story. That is how I own my story!

What is your story?

Poem about owning your truth and story

What a nice melding of cultures! My father’s family is from Canada, and I embrace that side of my heritage. I like this post; very wise and thought-provoking. Thank you!
