The Ordinary Extraordinary

COVID-19: Accepting Our Part

In the past couple of decades the world has been blessed with a copious amount of abundance. There has been an immense flow of wealth, opportunity, and information.

All that seemed unattainable and a distant dream for our ancestors has been a reality for us all. As a human race we have figured out the mechanics of the human body, reached for the stars, made all information available at our finger tips, and have the ability to connect across miles. We are so advanced that we have even created the potential for one individual to destroy the entire world with the push of one button.

While jointly our amazing minds have been able to achieve amazing things the real question is, as humans, have we been able to raise our collective consciousness to the same level? We, it seems my friends, have lagged behind, far behind in this aspect.

Wayne Dyer once said, “when you are squeezed [by life] what comes out is what is inside.” Just when we think we own it all and know it all we are faced with a catastrophe called COVID-19. The World Health Organization calls it a pandemic. It is sad. It is scary. It has effected so many lives and has the potential to spread exponentially.

These are difficult times calling for difficult measures. In all its peril, like every other challenge in life, lies the opportunity for us as a race to take a hard look at ourselves. What we are seeing come out is fear, anxiety, panic, greed, selfishness, and worry. It seems we remain our unhealed selves, oblivious to the untapped wholeness within.

While the high tides are exciting and uplifting ,
it’s the low tides that test the ground we stand on

They say the universe is self-correcting and self-organizing. While us humans are busy proving our own superiority over other and creating every possible separation amongst us; this virus is global. It is above all national, territorial, racial, religious, economic, and educational barriers. It is screaming at us to accept that we are all in this together. We are one despite all the separations we like to create.

Through this terrible time period we must all rise and own our responsibility to heal the world. Together, we must all strive towards the next level of consciousness. We must all become aware of the energy, vibration and healing we bring into the world. While our community leaders, medical workers, and volunteers work tirelessly to rise to the challenges, we must all accept and do our part.

Here is what we can do:

  • Do not create panic
  • Stay Calm
  • Isolate ourselves so we can break the chain
  • Ask your loved ones (especially youngsters) to do the same
  • Keep ourselves updated and current
  • Learn to accept what is
  • Do not hoard; learn to share
  • Follow strict guidelines set by community leaders
  • Negative emotions will only deprive our immune system of its ability to deal with this or any other sickness.
  • Stay positive
  • Be part of the community
  • Think of others
  • Be there for the elders
  • Stay in touch with your loved ones
  • Read an uplifting book
  • Practice gratitude
  • Slow down your thoughts
  • Be present
  • Learn to sit with the self
  • Meditate to help cope with all the negativity
  • Pray for all those being effected and for humanity

This time is here to serve as an awakening that our minds may have achieved amazing things but it’s our hearts that need healing. Let us learn to slow down, surrender, accept, and fully be with what is.

Let this time teach us to conduct ourselves from a place of love, compassion, and gratitude. Let us erase all boundaries and separations. In essence, we are one, we are human!

With love,

Devinder 💖

COVID-19 my family’s response is to make positive contribution to fight this aweful disease in an international effort. My niece as Project Director worked hard, day and night to fulfil the government’s request for 250,000 volunteers. Today there are 600,000 volunteers registered within 48 hours. My sister as CEO of an academy is making arrangements to looking after the children of essential services workers . My brother a pilot is flying to epicentres in Europe i.e. Italy, Spain etc. by taking the much needed essential supplies to hospitals like medicine, personal protection. I am looking after the vulnerable members of my family and the neighbourhood.
