The Ordinary Extraordinary

So you are Canadian, eh?

So you are Canadian Eh?

As I strive to make gratitude a way of life, one of the permanent features on my list is the beautiful synchronicities that came together to transport an 10 year old me across the oceans to this glorious country. Every day I am in awe of the place I get to call home.

Is it the vastness, abundance, and natural beauty bestowed upon this land or the mosaic of cultures, kindness of the people, and its acceptance of all that fills my heart with gratitude?

Actually, it’s all that and more. It’s the integrity, honesty, responsibility, respect, compassion, understanding, hard work, and love that seems to permeate the air and run through our veins. It’s in the embodiment of all of the above that enables us to proudly call ourselves Canadian.

But with such privilege certainly comes responsibility. Whether you were born here or immigrated, let’s not forget this responsibility to personify and live these values in such a way that wherever we go people ask, “So you are Canadian, eh?”
