From fabulousfiftyfive.com to devindermaan.com, it’s been one incredibly powerful journey.
Starting this blog at the fabulous age of fifty-five was one of the best things I did for myself. It proved to be a beautiful stepping stone to discovering the untapped potential in my being. Furthermore, it opened my heart to unfolding and living this life to the highest possible expression of my soul.
A new passion and a deep sense of renewed purpose merged as I set on my mission to create a community of women who would learn, grow, and evolve together. Today, I see before me a vast range of opportunities . I aspire to live the truest and the grandest version of myself while helping other women in the process.
I started the blog with the intent to share my thoughts, experiences, and life lessons. What I discovered along the way were my writing skills, strong voice, and the courage to share my vulnerability. With each day, embracing my enthusiasm, authenticity, and passion, I pledged to show up as a better version of myself. As a result of this commitment, the person who grew the most through my writings was me.
Sharing my vulnerability, I found, opened up many essential conversations with individual women on various platforms. What I realized is that as women, our biggest common denominator is the pain we all subject ourselves to and the suffering we endure without question. This pain comes from trying to conform to cultural molds, sustaining societal pressures; seeking validation, fighting self-sabotaging thoughts, feeling responsible for other’s happiness, being there for everyone except ourselves, habitually trying to please others, etc., etc. As a result, we are living unfulfilled , inauthentic lives that don’t even scratch the surface of our true potential. These conversations started to open many cracks within my soul.
Essentially, this blog was a platform for sharing my life experiences through owning my creativity and strengths. It set me, however, on a self-discovery journey to acknowledge, own, and share every part of me: the messy, the broken, and the imperfect. That of course would mean peeling off layers upon layers of all that had been built around my soul in an attempt to fit into the molds of this world. It would be a slow process, but one that would liberate me every step of the way.
With Covid-19 disrupting our lives I felt this urge to do more and be more become even stronger. They say what you seek is seeking you. As the universe would have it, I came across Jay Shetty’s personal mission to transform one billion lives. Along with it came the opportunity to join this mission by training to become a life coach. I knew I had to be a part of this mission somehow, in some small way. Without thinking twice I enrolled in the certification program.
The course, that I completed at my own pace over ten months, was one of the best things I did for myself. This comprehensive program, while offering a skill set and knowledge, proved to be the biggest opportunity for self-discovery. With each module I learnt to dig a little deeper, reflect a little more, and become self-aware. I was witnessing a beautiful transformation from within.
With this transformation I felt a true liberation to live as the truest, most authentic version of myself. It was this liberation that would enable me to fully honour the life force within me. That was empowering.
My “AHA” moment, though, happened when I went from studying the course material to actually meeting, via Zoom, my very first client (a female). In this moment, I not only realized how powerful coaching was but also how empowering I was as a coach. The magic in this private, confidential space that created a heart to heart connection lit up my soul. I found this space where a client feels safe to share their vulnerability, hear their deepest thoughts, explore their darkest fears, embrace their biggest dreams and move forward one step at a time to be truly sacred.
I pledged to show up to this sacred place with a blank canvas, genuine curiosity, non-judgment, a desire to guide, challenge, support, and empower my clients to go deep within and create transformation from the root.
My niche, it seemed in this moment, defined itself. Moving forward my purpose, I knew, was to help women uncover, unlock and live their true potential. When we learn to step into the highest potential of our soul we honour the divinity within us. That is our biggest purpose in life and true liberation of the human soul.
My journey to becoming a life coach has helped me find a renewed purpose to help women find and live their highest potential and in doing so I would fulfill my greatest potential. What a true blessing that is.
